From one generation to the next it has it's own language it seems. I know i can't understand my Millennial teen at all. The leaves are mostly fallen from the trees. There’s a crispness in the air, although we have yet to see snow. And in the upper peninsula of Michigan, thoughts have turned to this year’s rifle hunting season. This is where I’ve lived for the past 22 years.

Yeap. Another trip to Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood. We didn’t have anyone “new” with us this time so we skipped the “museum” part and got really lazy upstairs for a few hours.

This was supposed to be a 3 day trek, but the snow melt-off forecast models were wrong!

Up above 4,000 feet there was still some snow on the peaks. As much as 3 feet.

Yesterday (October 1st 2013) was the very first day of the New Mountain Express bus route, it also just happened that yesterday morning was the first big snow on Mt Hood for the season, so I took a little road trip in the afternoon mainly to get a feel for the new bus route and see what kinds of park and trail access it will provide for future activities.
